But China is our Friend…Right?

by Kevin D. Freeman on September 24, 2014

It was an interesting week last week. For one thing, Chinese company Alibaba debuted as the largest IPO in the history of the world. Larger than the Initial Public Offerings of Facebook, Twitter, Google, Apple, and Microsoft combined. At the same time, there was a Senate report indicating that China hacked U.S. military contractors in a significant way at least twenty times in the past year. In America, we celebrated the success of Wall Street, earning $300 million or so in underwriter fees. In China, they celebrated finding a path to dethrone American technology dominance (from the official Chinese News Agency):

Alibaba’s IPO to end US dominance in technology sector: expert

English.news.cn 2014-09-19

LONDON, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) — Alibaba’s IPO could well be the end of U.S. dominance in the world technology sector, a professor from a Britain’s business school told Xinhua on Thursday.

“Alibaba’s annual growth rate of more than 30 percent shows that the gap between the Chinese companies, Alibaba and Tencent, and U.S. companies is getting ever closer,” said Qing Wang, professor from Warwick Business School, one of the most prestigious and highly selective business schools in the world.

“The ability to understand customers intimately and continuously innovate should enable them to expand overseas with US dominance in the world technology sector gradually being broken,” said professor Wang . . .

Americans seemed undisturbed by the nature of the IPO even though the Hong Kong Stock Exchange rejected it because it did not protect shareholders voting rights. And, Americans ignored a number of alarming issues raised by a Congressional agency staff report. From The Wall Street Journal:

U.S. Report Casts Doubt on Legal Structure of Alibaba, Other Chinese Firms
Structure Used by Alibaba, Other Chinese Internet Companies Seeking U.S. Investors

A U.S. government commission warned that investors face “major risks” if they buy shares in Chinese companies like e-commerce firm Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.

June 20, 2014

A report released this week by a commission that advises Congress on U.S.-China economic issues took aim at the legal structure underpinning Alibaba as well as a host of other Chinese Internet firms, calling it “a complex and highly risky scheme of legal arrangements.” It warned that the structure could lead to losses by shareholders in the U.S.

“U.S. shareholders face major risks from the complexity and purpose” of the structure, said the report, released on Wednesday by the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission.

In essence, American buyers of Alibaba received shares in a Cayman-islands corporation that does not have any real ownership or even control in the Chinese company. They get shares in a scheme that might share profits if 1) the company makes money, 2) the accounting shows the profit, 3) the CEO decides to share the profits, and 4) the Chinese government allows it.

Other issues that should have been raised about the largest IPO in history include wondering “What do they intend to do with the money?” and “Will they protect American consumer data?” The reality is that they intend to use a good deal of this money to acquire other American technology. They also intend to grow their American business and learn as much as they can about American consumers. And, if China was able to pressure Google, we can assume they will outright control Alibaba. They’ve already demonstrated that control over Jack Ma, Alibaba’s charismatic founder. As The Wall Street Journal noted, you don’t become China’s richest man without the Chinese government.

All of these issues were raised at a Press Club event hosted by The Center for Security Policy. I voiced similar concerns in a Fox Business segment as well:

But who cares as long as we are making money? China is our friend, right?

We can believe that if we just ignore the reality that China is preparing for “infowar.” The problem is that they are planning :”infowar” as part of all-out economic warfare capabilities according to Bill Gertz:

Xi urges PLA to wage ‘infowar’

by Bill Gertz, September 10, 2014

Chinese President Xi Jinping is urging the People’s Liberation Army to shift its focus from preparing solely for a future conventional and nuclear conflict to developing “information warfare” capabilities as part of Beijing’s military buildup.

Mr. Xi called for developing advanced military capabilities, including information warfare, as part of what he termed the global revolution in military affairs — a term coined by the Soviet Union’s military and later adopted by the U.S. military for what is now high-technology and intelligence-driven warfare.

The military reforms were discussed during a meeting Aug. 29 of the ruling Communist Party’s Central Committee. In addition to being Chinese president, Mr. Xi is chairman of the Central Military Commission — the ultimate power organ in China that directs all military activities.

“Faced with the severe challenges to our national security and stability and the deep-seated contradictions and problems with reform, it is even more pressing that we greatly liberate our ideas and concepts, have the courage to change our fixed mindsets of mechanized warfare, and establish the ideological concept of information warfare,” Mr. Xi was quoted as saying in state media.

State-run China National Television, the Internet propaganda broadcaster, reported Sept. 2 that “apart from safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and territory, Mr. Xi emphasized strategic interests and the ability to counter non-traditional security threats including economic threats” — an indication China is preparing to wage economic warfare in the future.

China currently holds $1.28 trillion worth of U.S. government bonds, and Chinese military leaders in the past have threatened to use the debt holdings to punish the United States for arms sales to Taiwan.

The directive to build information warfare capabilities follows disclosure in a Pentagon report earlier this year that China is engaged in information warfare. Continue reading

(CNSNews.com) – Rev. Franklin Graham, head of the international Christian aid group Samaritan’s Purse and son of world-renowned preacher Billy Graham, said that given all the “bad news” about the killing of Christians by Muslims in some countries, and attacks on Christians by the media and the government even in America, he cannot “help but wonder if we are in the last hours before our Lord Jesus Christ returns.”

“As I read the news, I can’t help but wonder if we are in the last hours before our Lord Jesus Christ returns to rescue His church and God pours out His wrath on the world for the rejection of His Son,” said Rev. Graham in a post on the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) website. Continue reading

Surprise, Surprise; American Banks Hacked Following Sanctions

by Kevin D. Freeman on August 28, 2014

We’ve been consistent since the summer of 2008 in private conversations, 2009 with reports to the government, 2011 in this blog, 2012 with the NY Times bestseller Secret Weapon and 2014 with Game PlanWe’ve told you that this is a global economic war. We pointed out Russian warnings that they could crash the American financial system in retaliation for any sanctions we would impose. We explained that this was a long-term Putin-led strategy to dethrone American economic leadership and remove the dollar from Global Reserve Currency status. We warned that the 2011 NASDAQ hack was just the beginning of things to come. Our stock market and entire financial system have been targetedAnd, not just by Russia.

So, why is anyone surprised to learn that the American banking system was stealthily attacked?

Here’s what we know so far:

1. At least five major banks including JP Morgan Chase were hacked.

2. The hack was extremely sophisticated indicating nation-state involvement whether directly or indirectly.  It was described as Stuxnet-like.   That is far beyond the amateur hacker’s capability. [Of course, it could be an independent group operating with state-level resources and approval.]

3. The prime suspect is Russia.

4. It appears that the attack might have been to show capability as a “warning shot” across the bow. Even the best-managed systems by the biggest companies appear vulnerable. The attack proved that even the core infrastructure could be breached.

5. We are behind the curve in addressing these threats. In fact, banks weren’t scheduled to meet with the Treasury on cyber threats until next month.

6. It is VERY serious. Even before the attack was acknowledged, “Treasury Secretary Jack Lew gave a speech focused on the topic at a Wall Street investor conference in July. ‘These incidents represent a direct threat to our economic and national security, perpetrated by state and non-state actors around the world, with growing intensity and increasing sophistication,’ Lew said.” That was BEFORE the latest revelation.

Don’t forget what General Keith Alexander said to 60 Minutes late last year:

Some Foreign Nations Have The Cyberwar Capability To Destroy Our Financial System, NSA Admits

On the CBS program 60 Minutes tonight, National Security Agency (NSA) director Gen. Keith Alexander admitted that “a foreign national could impact and destroy a major portion of our financial system . . . and literally take down the U.S. economy.”

…(Deborah) Plunkett (another NSA official spokesperson) told CBS: “Don’t be fooled. There are absolutely nation states who have the capability and the intention to do just that,” ie “literally take down the U.S. economy.”

This is just further evidence of what we have been saying all along:

We are in a global economic war right now. And, we appear less prepared to face it than we were prepared in November 1941 to face the second world war. Unfortunately, Pearl Harbor is coming.

Is There a Microchip Implant in Your Future???

You can inject one under your skin and no one will ever notice. Using short-range radio frequency identification (RFID) signals, it can transmit your identity as you pass through a security checkpoint or walk into a football stadium. It can help you buy groceries at Wal-Mart. In a worst-case scenario – if you are kidnapped in a foreign country, for example – it could save your life.

Microchip implants like the ones pet owners use to track their dogs and cats could become commonplace in humans in the next decade. Experts are divided on whether they’re appropriate for people, but the implants could offer several advantages. For soldiers and journalists in war zones, an implant could be the difference between life and death. A tracker could also help law enforcement quickly locate a kidnapped child.

“In the long run, chip implants could make it less intrusive than some emerging ID systems which rely on physical biometrics (like your fingerprints or unique eye pattern),” says Alex Soojung-Kim Pang, author of the book “Distraction Addiction” and visiting scholar at Stanford’s University’s Peace Innovation Lab. Saudi king warns West will be jihadists’ next target

Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) (AFP) – King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has warned that the West will be the next target of the jihadists sweeping through Syria and Iraq, unless there is “rapid” action.

“If we ignore them, I am sure they will reach Europe in a month and America in another month,” he said in remarks quoted on Saturday by Asharq al-Awsat daily and Saudi-backed Al-Arabiya television station.

“Terrorism knows no border and its danger could affect several countries outside the Middle East,” said the king who was speaking at a welcoming ceremony on Friday for new ambassadors, including a new envoy from Saudi ally the United States.

The Islamic State (IS) jihadist group has prompted widespread concern as it advances in both Syria and Iraq, killing hundreds of people, including in gruesome beheadings and mass executions.

Lack of action would be “unacceptable” in the face of the phenomenon, King Abdullah said.

“You see how they (jihadists) carry out beheadings and make children show the severed heads in the street,” he said, condemning the “cruelty” of such acts.

“It is no secret to you, what they have done and what they have yet to do. I ask you to transmit this message to your leaders: ‘Fight terrorism with force, reason and (necessary) speed’.”

President Barack Obama has yet to decide whether the United States should launch raids against positions held by the Islamic State jihadist group in Syria to follow US air strikes on IS activities in Iraq.

US Secretary of State John Kerry called Friday for a global coalition to combat Islamic State fighters’ “genocidal agenda”.

Writing in the New York Times, Kerry said he and Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel will meet European counterparts on the sidelines of a NATO summit in Wales next week, to enlist assistance.

They will then travel on to the Middle East to build support “among the countries that are most directly threatened”. Continue reading

De-Dollarization Accelerates – China/Russia Complete Currency Swap Agreement

The last 3 months have seen Russia’s “de-dollarization” plans accelerate. First Gazprom clients shift to Euros and Renminbi, then the UK signs currency swap agreements with China, then NATO ally Turkey cuts ties and mulls de-dollarization,Switzerland jumps in the currency swap agreements, and BRICS create their own non-US-based funding vehicle, and then finally this week, Russia’s oligarchs have shifted cash holdings to Hong Kong. But this week, as RT reports, Russian and Chinese central banks have agreed a draft currency swap agreement, which will allow them to increase trade in domestic currencies and cut the dependence on the US dollar in bilateral payments. “”The agreement will stimulate further development of direct trade in yuan and rubles on the domestic foreign exchange markets of Russia and China,” the Russian regulator said. [To Continue Reading at ZEROHEDGE…]

De-Dollarization Accelerates – China/Russia Complete Currency Swap Agreement

The last 3 months have seen Russia’s “de-dollarization” plans accelerate. First Gazprom clients shift to Euros and Renminbi, then the UK signs currency swap agreements with China, then NATO ally Turkey cuts ties and mulls de-dollarization, Switzerland jumps in the currency swap agreements, and BRICS create their own non-US-based funding vehicle, and then finally this week, Russia’s oligarchs have shifted cash holdings to Hong Kong. As RT reports,

In early July, the Central Bank’s chairwoman Elvira Nabiullina said Moscow and Beijing were close to reaching an agreement on conducting swap operations in national currencies to boost trade. The deal was later discussed during her trip to China.

President Vladimir Putin, during his visit to Shanghai in May, said cooperation between Russian and Chinese banks was growing, and the two sides were set to continue developing the financial infrastructure.“Work is underway to increase the amount of mutual payments in national currencies, and we intend to consider new financial instruments,” Putin said after talks with President Xi Jinping. It appears the deal is done…

Microchips Will Be Implanted Into Healthy People Sooner Than You Think

Business Insider

Mark Gasson

In March 2009, British researcher Mark Gasson had a chip injected under the skin of his hand. The chip, a slightly more advanced version of the tags used to track pets, turned Gasson into a walking swipe-card. With a wave of his wrist, he could open security doors at the University of Reading laboratory, where his experiment was being conducted, and he could unlock his cell phone just by cradling it.

A year later, Gasson infected his own implant with a computer virus, one that he could pass on to other computer systems if the building’s networks were programmed to read his chip. As Gasson breezed around the the workplace, spreading the virus and corrupting computer systems, certain areas of the building became inaccessible to his colleagues.

At the time of the experiment, theoretical physicist and author of “The Future of the Mind” Michio Kaku told FOX News that demonstrating the ability to spread infection was an “important point” because “we’re going to have more chips in our body and clothing.”

Thousands of Americans already have implanted medical devices, including pacemakers, which are inserted into the chest to treat abnormal heart rhythms, and cochlear implants, which help deaf people to hear.

But the future, Gasson says, is going to focus on implantable technology for healthy people. Part of the reason is that we continually look for ways to make our lives easier. The question is whether we’re willing accept both the unintended and unknown consequences that come with giving up partial control of our bodies to technology.

Human vs. MachineImplantable microchips provide a more intimate connection with technology than that of any other portable electronic device, like a cell phone or iPod, because the tag becomes a direct part of us when it’s inserted into our body. Implants “have the potential to change the very essence of what it is to be human,” Gasson said at a 2012 TEDX Talk.

The susceptibility of human microchips to cyber attacks is one worry, but Gasson wanted to explore issues beyond common concerns related to privacy and security.

That’s why he conducted the experiment in two stages: A surgeon initially inserted a clean computer chip into his hand, and the computer virus was unleashed a little over a year later. During that time, Gasson and his team were particularly interested in studying the psychological implications of implanted devices.

“There’s an underlying feeling that [having an implantable device] is an alien phenomenon,” said Gasson, a cybernetics expert. The only way to properly explore the psychological aspect was to have the device himself, he said.

What is an RFID implant?

A close-up of the implant device next to a match stick. The microchip, encased in glass, is about the size of a grain of rice.

RFID stands for radio frequency identification. The chip doesn’t have its own battery, powered instead by a reader that pulls information out of the chip. The reader gets the chip’s unique ID number and then cross references it to a database. RFID chips are found in lots of things we use every day, including credit cards.

Similar, if not creepier, technology is currently at work in things like Disney World’s MagicBand, which tracks a wearer’s location within the park and connects to that person’s accounts, according to a recent Medium post. These technologies have been useful not just for the company but for park guests — it makes their experience seamless.

These technologies are also being used for payment services: Some people use Google Wallet and Tap-To-Pay services to pay using their phones at stores and in cabs, instead of whipping out their wallet or carrying all their cards with them. The Hilton just recently announced a feature to replace keycards at its hotels. Guests will use an app to access their room.

As these technologies get more advanced and their uses get more varied, why would we be carrying a phone around when we could do all these things with a swipe of the hand?

Why an implant?

The chip implanted in Gasson’s thumb, which is roughly the shape and size of a grain of rice, functions “like a tiny computer.” It can store information like a small USB memory stick.

The chip appears as an extremely small, though visible, bump on the side of his finger. “It does freak people out quite a bit,” Gasson said. “But it doesn’t look grotesque.”

Unsurprisingly, Gasson says the chip did not immediately feel like part of his body. But the distinction faded over time as he used the chip more and more. “Unlike keys or a phone, you don’t have to think about carrying this type of device, and then you seamlessly use it and forget about it.”

Gasson has no plans to remove the chip.

Gasson’s research in human microchips parallels the work of a growing community of people, so-called biohackers, who view microchipping as the next form of human evolution. Hacking tends to have a negative connotation, but this new group of technology enthusiasts offers a different meaning. In their world, the goal of hacking is not to inflict harm, but to transform something from its original purpose into something more useful. Continue reading

British Scientist Says Human Microchipping Will Be Mandatory

<img width=”560″ height=”420″ src=”http://jimbakkershow.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/theevilrfidchip-560×420.jpg” class=”attachment-single-news wp-post-image” alt=””/>

Revelation 13:16 – “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads.”

Luke 21:7 “Teacher,” they asked, “when will all this happen? What sign will show us that these things are about to take place?” Luke 21:11 “There will be great earthquakes, and there will be famines and epidemics in many lands, and there will be terrifying things (that which strikes terror), and great miraculous signs in the heavens.”

A British scientist says that the implanting of microchips in humans will be something that won’t be seen as optional in the near future.

Dr. Mark Gasson of the University of Reading in Britain says that RFID tags will become so commonplace that everyone will be expected to have one for business and healthcare.

“It’s not possible to interact in society today in a meaningful way without having a mobile phone,” Dr. Gasson told the Sydney Morning Herald. “I think human implants will go along a similar route. It will be such a disadvantage not to have the implant that it will essentially not be optional.”

Gasson is known as the first human being to contract a computer virus after a chip in his arm placed in 2009 that carried a virus, which infected his school’s entire computer network.

“It has the potential to change the very essence of what it means to be human,” Dr. Gasson said.

VeriChip, a company that provides RFID chips to medical facilities, has recently began a campaign encouraging parents to microchip their children to protect their children in the event of kidnapping. However, it has been revealed the company’s chips do not have GPS technology, so they would be useless in an actual search for missing children.
